Caring for the roses.

Here on SuperFlori, our community of florists uses superior red roses from varieties such as Red Naomi, Freedom or Ecuador. Besides being imposing, with large blooms, they also last considerably longer in the vase.

Roses are sensitive to sudden changes in temperature; their staying power in the vase comes above all from freshness — more precisely, from how recently they were cut. We recommend taking the roses out of the bouquet and arranging them loosely in the vase together with the greenery included. This will considerably extend how long they stay fresh.

• The water in the vase must be changed every day, and the inside of the vase cleaned with detergent every few days to prevent bacteria from forming.
• Make sure the rose leaves are not in contact with the water; remove those leaves if necessary.
• To refresh the stems, every 3 days cut about 2 centimetres off the tip at an angle, with a clean cut that does not crush the stem.
